AIF
The American India Foundation is dedicated to catalyzing social and economic change in India and building a lasting bridge between the United States and India.
- AIF was founded under the leadership of former US President Bill Clinton is a non-profit organization devoted to accelerating social and economic change in India. Since its inception in 2001, AIF is one of the largest secular, non-partisan American organizations supporting development work in India.
- AIF works with partners/donors to implement programs in education, livelihood and public health sectors in India. Through its flagship program, Digital Equalizer (DE), AIF attempts to bridge the digital divide by providing computes, Internet access and training to improve learning and critical thinking amongst students in under-resourced schools. AIF works out of New York & Silicon Valley in the US, and New Delhi in India.

DE Program:
Mission:
To advance the use of technology to engage, educate, enrich and empower India’s underserved children.
Vision:
An India where ALL children have access to technology and information to prepare them for the emerging digital age
Primary Objective:
To use the DE model to influence education policy: advocating the role of technology in improving the quality of education and institutionalizing the program within the Indian public school system to reach the most marginalized children across India.
- The Digital Equalizer (DE) Program is an education program under the flagship of the American India Foundation (AIF). The DE program strives to bridge the digital divide by providing computers, internet access and training to improve learning and critical thinking amongst underprivileged students.
- DE centers typically feature computers, internet connections, software and digital curricula; each center (DE-School) is supported by a coordinator handling a cluster of six schools. AIF provides on-site supports to a DE school for a period of three years with a clear mandate to help it become self – sustained
